Danny Cavada Montenegro is a 1st gen. Mexican-American TV drama writer who was born and raised in the North American tundra known as Chicago, IL (or as locals call it: Chiberia). After continuing to thaw out many years later in Los Angeles, he’s paid the bills by working in freelance positions as an Assistant or Post Coordinator on various hit TV shows such as “Weeds,” “Scandal,” “Future Man,” “Swamp Thing,” “Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story,” and the upcoming season of “Diary of a Future President.” In 2019, his pilot “Fichera” was selected for the annual Bitch List (list of top unproduced female-driven projects that pass the Bechdel Test) along with making it to The Tracking Board’s Pilot Launch Pad Top 25. His scene “The Chase” was also selected as part of NHMC’s Latino Scene Showcase in 2019. In 2020, he reached the finalist level for NBC’s Writers on the Verge. Danny seeks his writing inspiration by hiking the cities, mountains, and beaches of beautiful SoCal.
